Our Instructors
Sue
Studio Owner, Pilates Instructor, Wellness Coach
Sue began practicing Pilates at a time in her life when she was struggling to find balance as a new mom to three young boys. The immediate benefits Pilates had on her mind and body ignited in her a desire to share Pilates with others.
Sue earned her 600-hour comprehensive Pilates instructor certification through Power Pilates and the Pilates Method Alliance, and became a certified health and wellness coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.
Sue believes Pilates is for all people and all bodies. She has undergone specialized training in Pilates for injury rehabilitation, prenatal and postnatal Pilates, and Pilates for breast cancer patients and survivors. She is certified in the Jill Hinson Method for Breast Cancer and is an affiliate with Core Compassion Project, which provides Pilates scholarships to individuals with breast cancer and survivors.
Sue has also created a holistic wellness group program, Opalife, which combines Pilates, wellness coaching and a members-only community to help her clients reach their personal goals through movement, motivation, support and accountability.
Sue has a background in professional dance and dance instruction, and holds degrees in dance, nutrition and education from Rutgers University. She lives in Haddonfield, New Jersey, with her husband, three sons, and pup.
Mari
Pilates Instructor
With a passion for fitness and a heart that seeks to help others, Mari is dedicated to guiding people to experience the transformative power of Pilates.
Pilates came into Mari’s during a time of change and transition and was a consistent and grounding force. It seemed almost fortuitous that Mari’s true calling was to guide others on their own path to wellness and inner strength through Pilates.
As someone who has always prioritized movement and wellness, Mari understands the importance of staying active as we age. And that’s what makes Pilates so special—it’s designed for every body, regardless of age or fitness level.
Mari has a deep empathy for beginners; she can relate to the challenges and apprehensions that newcomers may face and is passionate about guiding her clients to be their best selves.
Meghan
Pilates & Yoga Instructor
Meghan has been teaching Ashtanga yoga since 2008. She runs a morning Mysore program in South Philly and teaches evening and weekend Ashtanga classes at Opal. For years, yoga was her absolute favorite thing—until she discovered Pilates. Now, she’s passionate about both!
Pilates has completely transformed Meghan’s yoga practice, helping her identify movement patterns and build a stronger core. She loves sharing these insights with others, blending her expertise in both disciplines to support students in moving with strength and ease.
When she’s not teaching, Meghan is busy trying to survive life as a mom to four tweenage girls. For her, both Yoga and Pilates are more than just movement practices; they’re essential tools for navigating life with resilience and grace.
